BMW Airhead / MICRO

Hello,

I will install the SECU-Micro on my BMW Airhead Motorbike (4 Stroke, 2 cylinder).
I need full sequential ignition.

Now I have some quesltions :

- Where should I trigger ( Camshaft or Crankshaft ) ?
- Which type of trigger Wheel ?
- Which type of Sensor ?

Thanks

Re: BMW Airhead / MICRO

Hello,

Current version of firmware requires two sensors for full sequential operation. CKP sensor and camshaft sensor. CKP can be N-1 or N-2, where N is number if teeth 16...200. Camshaft should output single pulse per 4 strokes. In the future I plan to implement support of triggering from a single sensor (missing tooth wheel installed on the camshaft).

So, for now:
1. You need both (two sensors, one on the crankshaft and one on the camshaft)
2. Wheel with 16...200 teeth with 1 or 2 missing teeth.
3. Hall or VR.

Note that SECU-3 Micro has no input for second sensor, but you can add related components using SECU-3T schematic diagram as guide. See PD3 pin of the microcontroller.

Re: BMW Airhead / MICRO

Hello,

thanks for the Info. It is a very nice idea, trigger from one sensor for full sequential ignition.

Am I correct, I cant use the Secu 3D Micro for full sequential ignition ?

Thanks

Re: BMW Airhead / MICRO

Yes, for now you can't use secu-3 micro for full sequential ignition, because it has only one input for triggering.
