Re: SECU-3 Manager program (for tuning)

Hi.
Is there a way to change the advance angle output to the display in SECU-3 manager? I use a hall sensor pickup(not correctly placed) and octan correction to get a the timing as i like, but than the advance angle output are far off the actual timing. I have 0 degree and display shows 17 degrees....
Thanks in advavnce

Re: SECU-3 Manager program (for tuning)

I don't understand exactly your question. Ignition timing displayed in the SECU-3 Manager should be correct and this value includes all corrections, so it is final.

Re: SECU-3 Manager program (for tuning)

Он имеет в виду, что у него не правильно установлен ДХ. То есть менеджер показывает 17, а по факту 0.
По аналогии с трамблеров, если он в 0 не выставлен и реальный УОЗ не соответствует прогррамно отображаемому.

Re: SECU-3 Manager program (for tuning)

Hi.
I'll try to explain better and is grateful for all help I can get.

My problem is that I would like to adjust the display so that it matches the actual timing on the engine. As I wrote earlier I have placed a hall sensor to get a signal from the flywheel, but the sensor is off from tdc with about 17 degrees. I correct this angle with octan correction to get the timing light to show exactly 0 degrees, but than the display shows 17 degrees too. Is there a way to correct this or should I use another way to correct for the offset from tdc on the senseor. I could of course change the placement of the sensor but I hoped I could do it by software.

Re: SECU-3 Manager program (for tuning)

There is no way to correct display only. Values displayed in the SECU-3 Manager are actual real values. There is no need to fix displayed values, instead you should install your sensor correctly, in opposite case system will not work correctly. If you use a hall sensor from distributor, then it should produce edge of pulse 60 degrees BTDC. If not, you should rotate your distributor. 60 degrees BTDC is required by design. This value also limits maximum possible ignition timing. When firmware receives a pulse 60 degrees BTDC, it starts to count down of time before the spark. This gives best accuracy.

Re: SECU-3 Manager program (for tuning)

Best if you follow STC's advice and get the timing ref to be 60 degrees BTDC on cylinder 1, but there is a setting within the firmware where you correct errors temporalily until you can adjust the timing ref. You use Octane correction as a short term way of correcting the timing, see page 9 of the manual.
