SECU-3 Lite installation manual
SECU-3 Lite installation manual includes following sections:
Wiring of ground
Ground should be connected to the SECU-3 Lite unit as shown below:
As ignition coil drivers are integrated to the unit, so treat to the connection of ground with great responsibility.
Different wiring diagrams (examples)
The following diagram shows connection of unit for synchronization from the VR CKP sensor (e.g. 60-2), high-tension distributor is used for the distribution of high-voltage. If you are using a trigger wheel without missing teeth (e.g. flywheel), it needs a second sensor – the reference sensor (REF_S). Pay attention to the connection of coolant temperature sensor.
If you want to completely eliminate the distributor, use the scheme of static spark distribution (Wasted Spark). Since the SECU-3 unit has only two ignition outputs, this scheme is applicable only for engines with number of cylinders 2 or 4.
In all of the above schemes idle cut-off valve, starter blocking relay, coolant temperature sensor and throttle limit switch are optional. For example, if you do not use idle cut-off valve of starter blocking function, the corresponding outputs can be reassigned to other functions (how to do this, refer to the SECU-3 Manager program User’s Manual).
Connecting a Hall effect sensor
If board of your SECU-3 unit configured for connecting of a Hall sensor, then connect it as shown below:
If board was not configured for connecting of a Hall sensor, then connect sensor as shown of the following picture:
Connecting of single or dual VR CKP sensors
If you use trigger wheel with one (36-1) or two (60-2) missing teeth, then it is enough single CKP sensor:
If you use trigger wheel without missing teeth, then you should use additional second sensor (reference sensor, generates one pulse per crankshaft revolution).
Connecting coolant temperature sensor
To connect CLT, one of the external connector pins is used, which is also used to connect the reference sensor (REF_S). Therefore, CLT connection is only possible if reference sensor is not used.
Connecting TPS or throttle limit switch
Input for switching between sets of tables
Idle cut-off valve wiring
Starter blocking relay wiring
Ignition coils connection
How to connect two double spark coils is shown on this wiring.
How to connect 4-cylinder coil pack for wasted spark (e.g. 2111.3705):
Connecting to a tachometer
Connecting automatic choke control unit
Configuring unit’s board
Connecting iButton for immobilizer
Installation of Bluetooth board
How to install and connect bluetooth board is described in this article. Board should be connected with four wires as shown on the following picture:
